Miss Verna Mae Scurry, 55, resident of Crabapple Lane of Greenville, RI.
Died on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital, Fatima Unit in North Providence, RI.
She was born March 11, 1951, in Woonsocket, RI
Daughter of the late Willie and Josephine (Collins) Scurry.

She was the first African American licensed beautician in Woonsocket; she worked for Kornstein’s. A resident of Greenville for the last 3 years, she lived in Manville and also Woonsocket. She was a member of AARP, the National Law Enforcement Offices Memorial, and the Commander Club (VFW) , and she was very involved with Senator Jack Reid’s campaign against asbestos.
