“TOGETHER AGAIN”
ROY/CLINTON – Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on February 19, 2014.
Verna was born the first of four children on June 24, 1919 in South Weber, Utah to Joseph Richard Russell and Annie Elizabeth Ray. When her father died, her mother moved her family to a small farm in Roy, Utah.
She graduated from Weber High School in 1937. On November 14, 1941 she married her sweetheart Lewis Orville Bambrough in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lew preceded her in death March 11, 1991. She continued to live in their home in Roy until 2005. Due to illness she moved to Country Pines, independent and assisted living in Clinton, Utah.
Verna worked at the Roy Post Office. She also worked at Gibby Floral and Tullis Fabric and Craft Shop. During those years she met many dear and lasting friends.
Verna was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her devotion to the gospel was unwavering throughout her life. She served in many callings including the stake and ward Relief Society Presidencies, and the Young Woman’s Mutual. She and Lew also served as Temple Ordinance Workers in the Ogden LDS Temple.
She took great joy in her family always offering her love and support.
