Verna E Rosenberg, 93, of Anderson, went be with the Lord on March 25, 2016 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus, Anderson. She was born on July 24, 1922 in Buffalo, New York, and lived in Oil City, Pennsylvania most of her life. She moved to Anderson in 1990 to be closer to her family. She was blessed with good health for 93 years until the last few months. Verna attended Wesley Free United Methodist Church, and was a faithful member of Love Bears. She enjoyed playing canasta, socializing with her friends at Harter House, attending Bible Study and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always ready to host a family dinner or movie or game night and always had some extra candy stashed for the grandkids. Each winter, Verna displayed an unparalleled snowman collection throughout her house.
Verna is survived by her daughter Laurie (Kent) Mosley of Little Rock, Arkansas, son, Larry (Becky) Rosenberg of Anderson, granddaughter, Julie (Chris) Spires, grandson, Andrew (Lisa) Rosenberg, brother, Marvin (Ann) Metzinger of Naples, FL, and 6 great-grandchildren. She also loved and appreciated her good friend Susan Lucas, adopted granddaughter, Maggie Lucas, her good friends and tablemates at Harter House and close friends from the Wesleyan church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 65 years, Harold Rosenberg, father, Edward Metzinger, mother, Ann Metzinger, and her brother, Chester Metzinger.
