Verdell Stair, age 75, of Drasco, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on March 8th, 2018. He was born on September 10th, 1942 in Ben, Arkansas.

Verdell was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Esther Stair; his brothers: Ervin Stair and Kenneth Stair; and his sisters: Dorothy Karns, Jean Corba, and Mary Lou Stair.

 

Verdell is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Linda Stair; his daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Randy Kingston; his son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Sheila Stair; two grandsons: Matthew Kingston and his wife, Meaghan, and Mark Kingston and his wife, Savanah; one granddaughter, Carlee Stair; one great-granddaughter, Hadley Claire Kingston; one brother, Virgil Stair and his wife, Linda; and one sister, Linda Gonzales and her husband, Lee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.

 

Verdell was a member of the Oak Grove Church in Wolf Bayou, Arkansas. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather.

 

As a young man, Verdell served his country as a transport operator for the United States Army. For the next thirty years Verdell worked as a forest ranger for the Arkansas Forestry Commission. After retiring, Verdell spent much of his time working on the farm doing mechanical work and gardening. He loved sharing his produce with his community and his church family. Most of all, Verdell was dedicated to his Lord and Savior and was always eager to share the word with others.
