Vera E. Johnson, 92, a resident of Rome City, IN and formerly of Huntington, IN., died Sunday, February 15, 2009 (5:50 AM) at Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville, IN.
Mrs. Johnson was born on February 14, 1917, in Kokomo, IN. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Johnson graduated from Kokomo High School. She was employed for many years at Yarger Cleaners in Huntington, IN and later retired from the former Memcor.
She married Darrell R. Johnson on December 4, 1937, in Kokomo, IN. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2003. She attended Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Rome City, IN. Survivors include 1 son: Darrell (Boxcar) Johnson.
One daughter: Sandy Forsthoffer, Rome City, IN. Four Grandchildren: Corky (Little) Amable, Joanna Culler, Katharine Rafatjah and Darush Motazedi. Four Great-grandchildren: Jon Rushing, Coty Cochran, Kaylin Krause, and Carson Culler.
They deceased two daughters: Judith McNabb and Kay Lynn Rafatjah. Two brothers: Charles Short and Ernest Short.
