VENTURA VARELA BARBA, 79, lifelong Deming resident passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 in El Paso, Texas.
Ventura was born on February 19, 1932 in Janos, Chihuahua, Mexico to Enedina Varela and Pedro Barba. For most of his career he worked as an operator of wells throughout the area.
He is survived by one son, Roberto (Alicia) of Deming; one daughter, Maria Arcelia Sanchez (Manuel) of Deming; two brothers, Manuel and Pedro Barba; six sisters, Lucia Montoya, Esperanza Barba, Maria Luisa Armendariz, Francisca Barba, Guadalupe Barba and Teresa Barba; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jesus and his parents.
