Velva Eubanks Emmons, 84, of Flemingsburg, formerly of Clarksville, TN passed away Thursday evening May 5, 2011 at Fleming County Hospital. She was born in Fleming County August 14, 1926 to the late John and Nora Eubanks.

Mrs. Emmons was a member of the Hilldale Baptist Church of Clarksville, TN. She was a graduate of Fleming County High School in 1944 and attended Morehead State University. She taught school in Fleming County and worked at Jockey International several years before moving to Clarksville, TN. She was very active in WIBC and ABC Bowling Associations for many years. She was also a member and secretary of the Queen City Old Timers Bowling League for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Moody Emmons in 1992, a daughter Judy Link, a brother Russell Eubanks and a sister Virginia Barton.

Survivors include Son: Jimmy (Bibbie) Emmons of Flemingsburg, KY, Daughters: Janet Bellamy (Rick Pulley) of Ashland City, TN and Jerri (Barry) Sims of Cynthiana, KY, Son – In – Law: Don Link of Clarksville, TN, 8 Grandchildren: Shad Moran, Amy (Brian) Furnish, Shana Porter, Kevin (Elizabeth) Link, Julie Emmons, Jay (Stephanie) Emmons, and Drew and Derek Pulley, 18 Great Grandchildren, 2 Sister – In – Laws: Joan King of Moore, OK and Juanita Bramel of Maysville, KY, 1 Niece: Doris Cowan of Crittenden, KY.
