Vass Alexander Barbour, Jr., 92, of Haw River, passed away at White Oak Manor on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
A native of Durham, Mr. Barbour was the husband of the late Julie Partin Barbour and the son of the late Vass E. Barbour and the late Ruth Carroll Barbour.
Mr. Barbour was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War and worked as a draftsman for Western-Electric and retired as a Senior Designer for AT&T.
Mr. Barbour was a former member of the Burlington Police Department Auxiliary and a member of the Central Carolina Gun Club.
Mr. Barbour is survived by three daughters, Vicki McPherson and her husband, Tom, of Elon, Joni Newell and her husband, Tim, of Wendell, Andrea Johnson of Cullowhee; a son, Eric Barbour and his wife, Brenda, of Mebane; seven grandchildren, Chaetan Newell, Cole Johnson, Tanner Johnson, Kyler Johnson, Clay McPherson, Amanda Hurlocker and Rebecca Barbour and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Barbour was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Franklin, Margaret Crabtree and Betty Perkinson; and a brother, George Barbour.
