He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty Dilbeck Lance; son and daughter in law, Anthony and Cynthia Lance; daughter, Vanessa Lance Meachen; special grandson, Reid Thurmond; granddaughters, Marissa Durham, Brittany Lance, and Alyssa Meachen; brother in law, J.B. Nuckolls; special nephew, Hoyt Lance; and several nieces and nephews.
