Valoree Sorensen, age 62, of Dakota City passed away on September 3, 2021 at her home. Valoree Ann Bauer, the daughter of Garth and Ellen (Duncan) Bauer, was born on September 2, 1959 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1977. On February 10, 1996 Valoree was united in marriage with Don Sorensen at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. She had worked as an Accounts Payable Clerk at Hog Slat. Valoree was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Humboldt Area Arts Council and Humboldt County Democrats. She enjoyed her “female bonding” trips, going to garage sales, activities with the Humboldt Class of 1977 and going to live music events with Don, especially at Byron’s in Pomeroy. Most of all she loved her friends and family and all the fun they had together. Left to cherish Valoree’s memory is her husband of 25 years, Don; daughter, Jessica Webb of Fort Dodge; son, Connor Sorensen of Dakota City; granddaughters, Oria Page and Onika Acosta of Fort Dodge; mother, Ellen Bauer of Humboldt; siblings, Connie (Ed) Werling of Quasqueton, Emery (Kris) Bauer of Gillette, WY, Roma Wilson of Dakota City and Randy (Jacqui) Bauer of Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother-in-law, Carroll Wilson.
