Valerie A. O’Leary (nee Rafalko), 83, of Holiday City West section of Berkeley Township passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at home. She was born in Throop, PA lived in Newark, NJ graduating from ARTS High School in 1950 was married in 1957 lived in Newark, NJ, then Virginia for 3 years, and then to Middlesex, NJ in 1967 living there for 29 years before moving to Holiday City West in 1996 upon retirement from Somerset Medical Center as an Inventory Control Clerk for 16 years.

She was a member of Rosary Sodality at Our Lady of Mount Virgin. A member of the Holiday City West Women’s Club and Bocce Club in which she had played for years and was on the Championship Team in 2012. She delivered the Westword in all kinds of weather. She enjoyed playing Canasta and Bingo at the Club House. Valerie frequently went to Atlantic City. She was thrilled to have visited Niagara Falls and Quebec Canada. Valerie was a fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants, ND Football Team, and the US Women’s Soccer Team. She also enjoyed watching her favorite TV Shows- Price Is Right, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. She loved her family and home and living in Holiday City West. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving is her loving husband John O’Leary Sr., two children Debi O’Leary- McAuley and her husband Chuck McAuley of Robbinsville, NJ, and John Jr. and his wife Karen Ludwig- O’Leary of Westfield, NJ, four grandchildren Dr. Charles E. McAuley IV, Gabrielle, Charlotte, and Jackson, two sisters Evelyn Rhody of New Smyrna Beach, Fl. and Rita Piretra of Cliffside Park, NJ and also many nieces and nephews.
