Vagn Harder Jensen, of Ammon, died April 6, 2016, at the age of 83 from heart and pulmonary complications.

Vagn was born in Denmark on January 19, 1933, a son to Harder Nicolaj Jensen and Anna Kirstine Pedersen. He finished high school in Denmark, then was employed as a bank apprentice. While employed, he finished two winter semesters of business college at evening school.

In October 1952 he emigrated with his father to Canada where he was trained as a radiographer at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, and at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. In May 1962, he emigrated to the United States settling in Ogden, Utah. He worked at the McKay-Dee Hospital, the Clearfield Job Corps, and the last 18 years at Defense Depot Ogden, from where he retired March 1996, after which he and his wife moved to Idaho Falls.

On August 27, 1965, he married Karen Petersen of Oakland, Minnesota, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They had three children and one foster child, Nia Marie, Shane, Wendelyn, and Kami. They were later divorced.

On April 17, 1993, he married Kathleen Clayton Cox of Salt Lake City, Utah, in the Jordan River LDS Temple. While living in Ogden, Vagn earned two associate degrees and one B.S. degree from Weber State University, after which he finished a Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Vagn leaves behind his wife, Kathleen Jensen of Ammon, ID; a sister, Nia Jensen of Holladay, UT; and four children: Nia Marie (Mike) Turek of Beaverton, OR; Shane (Tracie) Jensen of Murray, UT; Wendelyn Jensen of Sandy, UT; and Kami (Dennis) Lindsay of Winston, OR. His stepchildren include: Susan (Kirk) Ward of Rexburg, ID; Elizabeth (Jeff) Hinson of Leoma, TN; Sarah (John) Hicks of Florence, AL; and Jeremy (Alisa) Cox of Riverton, UT. Vagn has 20 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a half brother.
