Tyler Whidden passed away unexpectedly on October 29, 2021 at 29 years old. He will be forever missed by his mother, Patricia LaBaire, and his sister, Emily Whidden. He is predeceased by his father, James Whidden. Tyler will also be missed by his partner, Benjamin Miele and their dog Denali, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.Tyler was born on May 8, 1992 in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. He graduated from Oakmont Regional High School in 2010 and went on to study at UMass Boston, achieving a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. Tyler was always curious and full of energy. As a boy, he loved exploring in the woods and building forts with his sister. He practiced martial arts where he rose to a brown belt, and he found solace in the world of books and video games. As he grew up, he remained playful, adventurous, and mischievous. He always had a connection to nature and animals, and he was truly a gentle spirit. Tyler loved to travel and explore different cultures. After graduating from college, he spent time living in Chicago and London and traveled throughout the U.S and U.K. He also enjoyed running and weightlifting, concerts and festivals, and art in all forms. Tyler was a deep thinker who loved learning new things and meaningful discussion. He was a quick learner and eventually pursued a career in web design and software development. He also enjoyed creative writing and was working on a novel. An avid fan of stand-up comedy, he recently began creating his own material based on his experiences. For his entire life, Tyler was passionate about animal welfare, social and environmental justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and mental health issues. He was compassionate and a fierce advocate, and he would give anything he had to anyone who needed it. Tyler had a profound understanding of how the world works, both its faults and its beauty, and he struggled to reconcile the two. Nevertheless, he personified the values of love and community and was a bright light who brought so much warmth to many.
