Turney Vandeveer Buck, “Van”, died February 8, 2021 at Hospice of the Valley, in Tempe, AZ.
Van was born on February 22,1954 in Springfield, IL, to Georgene Seaman Buck and Turney English Buck, Jr. He is survived by his sisters, Gina Buck Stopher, Linda Buck Laws; his brother Stephen David Buck; his nieces, Stacey Stopher Nemanic, Phoebe Georgene Gilbert, Ann Laws Freeman, and Lindsey Laws Powers; his nephews Ryan English Peck and Hugo Vandeveer Gilbert; great-nephew Nikolaus Vandeveer Nemanic and great-nieces Neva Michelle Nemanic, Blake Savannah Freeman, Tanner Elizabeth Freeman, Paige McKenna Powers, Taylor Sloane Powers, and Elle Hayden Powers. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Julie Buck Gilbert, and his partner, Tamara Paulson. Van leaves behind a treasure of lifelong friends, especially Mike, “Kork” and Janet Corrigan and their son Sean, Matt Heffer, John Balph, George Winney, Laurie Galloway, Kerry Rose, and Beth Rose.
He attended Arizona State University and was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Van was a professional entertainer with an exceptional ability at impressions, standup comedy and slide of hand. He loved all dogs especially Bloodhounds, Saint Bernards, and Mastiffs.
