Treva Ilene Howard, 83, passed away Monday morning at Anderson Community Hospital in Anderson, IN.
Treva was born August 20, 1927 in rural Grant County near Fairmount. Treva graduated from Fairmount High School in 1945, and married her classmate Kenneth on August 8, 1948. She was the first of her family to graduate from college, receiving her Bachelors from Taylor University of Upland in 1965 and her Masters from Ball State University in Muncie, IN in 1969. Treva introduced and taught music to thousands of students at Park Elementary in the Madison-Grant school system for approximately 25 years, retiring in 1991.
Treva, a devote Christian, lived a youthful life, never succumbing to the age that she was. She and her husband Kenneth traveled extensively both domestically and internationally, including multiple trips to Israel. She became a certified scuba diver at 60, and enjoyed water skiing and jetski riding up to age 80.
Treva was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth B. Howard (2008), and her parents Leslie (2000) and Sarah (1997) Davis.
She is survived by three sons and one daughter; Gregg (Nancy) Howard (St. Petersburg, FL), Cindy (Howard) (Gary) Hummer (Indian Rocks Beach, FL), Barry (Joanie) Howard (Fairmount, IN), Rodge (Sherry) Howard (Fairmount, IN);
nine grandchildren; Erica Howard

Douglas (Jessica) Howard
Lindsey (James) Kasper

three great-great grandchildren; Hannah Kassiah Kasper and Amy Howard
