Trente Roy Adair, 82, of Troy, Ill., born May 29, 1930, in Alabama died on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at his home in Troy, Ill.
On July 14, 1951 he and Doris Lula Maddox were united in holy matrimony by the Rev. A.L. Sandlin, after the Saturday evening youth service at the Church of God in Cullman, Ala. They celebrated 61 years of marriage this past July.
He was actively involved in supporting world missions, and on two occasions was privileged to accompany a missions team to South Africa and Zimbabwe. Mr. Adair also enjoyed being a member of the Troy Assembly of God Church for several years.
Chief Master Sgt. Trente Roy Adair proudly served God and country. He was most proud of his family that is serving God, and his service for his country in the U.S. Air Force. One aspect of his 40 year military career included more than 3000 missions as a Search and Rescue Coordinator that resulted in saving over 600 lives. His many years of service provided an unending supply of stories that he loved to share with anyone he met, and he never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed! Trente was a member of The Retired Enlisted Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Robert Adair and Mildred Elaine, nee Johnson, Adair of Vinemont, Ala.; and brother, Dallas Adair.
Surviving are his wife, Doris L., nee Maddox, Adair; sons, Robert (Sheila) Adair of Edwardsville, Ill., and Tim (Shari) Adair of Highland, Ill.; daughters; Debra Ingles of O’Fallon, Mo., and Cindy (Rob) Blaylock of St. Jacob, Ill.; grandchildren, Robert (Aliesha) Adair Jr., Janelle (Philip) Webb, Josh Adair, Nate (Kelly) Ingles, Stacy, Tiffany and Katie Blaylock, Brandon (Danielle Reed) Adair, Brittani (Tyler) Robertson and Rachel (George) Crouse; great-grandchildren, Kierstyn, Trace, Travis, Austin, Kyler, Kaden, Kohl, Kaice, Emma and Grace; brothers, Dwayne (Elizabeth) Adair of Vine Mount, Ala., Donald (Leona) Adair of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and sisters, Rose Flanagan of Cullman, Ala., and Myra (Jim Mack) Flanagan of Cullman, Ala.
