With heavy hearts but faithful souls we regret to inform the friends and family of TRANSITO MILITON MONTOYA, A.K.A. “CURLY”, that he has passed away at 79 years of age as of April 23rd, 2014.
Transito was an altar boy in his youth and early in his manhood he joined the United States Navy and earned a Purple Heart in The Korean War. Upon finishing his tour of duty he served as a paramedic in the Albuquerque Fire Department and went on to run his own business, “ABC Fire Control Systems”. Our dad and grandfather paid his dues to this world tenfold and lived to become a huge influence and a mentor to his step son and grandsons. An angel to some, a devil to most but a hero for millions…
Curly was a champion and is now with his beloved wife “Dolly” in heaven. Curly was cherished by: His late wife, Dolores Zamora; His step son and closest boy, Wilfred Joe Zamora Jr; His two adored grandsons, second children, Antonio Zamora and Delano Zamora, His family: Lucy Montoya, Rosann and Henry Hunick and Eric Hunick; Ann Tapia, Melanie and Robert Thompson; Mike and Hazel Montoya; and Natalie and Jason Gittleson.
