Tony Vincent Hawn, 72, of Arnolds Park passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.
Tony was born on July 22, 1946, in Spirit Lake to Floyd James and Colleen Norma (Curry) Hawn. He graduated from Arnolds Park High School in 1966. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. During his time of service, Tony earned a Battle Efficiency “E” award, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1971.
Tony was united in marriage to Brenda Dawson on July 26, 1996, in Clearwater, FL. He was a Jack of All Trades for the family business, Hawn Bros. Tony was a member of Downtown Church in Arnolds Park. In Tony’s younger years, he could be found around the lakes area fishing and causing trouble with his 4 brothers and 2 sisters. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tying Flys. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Brenda Hawn of Arnolds Park; daughters Sabrena Metheny of Lynnwood, WA; Samantha Wise of Royal, IA; Moriah Curry of Estherville, IA; stepdaughter Melissa Martin of South Dakota; brothers Jeff Hawn, Fred Hawn, Mike Hawn, and Bill Hawn all of Spirit Lake; sisters Patty Dodds of Arnolds Park and Mary Dodds of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren Casey Rae Vorhies of Ellsworth, WI, Zachary Taylor French of Spencer, IA, Chaz Lee French of Spencer, IA, Quinton Anthony Metheny of Lynnwood, WA, Jonathon Lloyd Wise of Fostoria, IA, Stacey Kay Meyer of Spencer, IA, Jennifer Nicole Vodraska of Spencer, IA, Aeriauna Elizabeth Otteson, Shayna Grace Otteson, and Sayer Mazuy Martin all of South Dakota, great-grandchildren Nova Rain Wise, Aura Rose Wise, Dodge Robert Wise all of Fostoria, IA, Jonathon Dean Meyer and Emma Nicole Meyer of Spencer, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made in Tony’s name and given to the family.
