Tobia Eller Stewart, 94, of Troutman, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Iredell County on November 15, 1918 to the late Thomas I. and Bertha Sherrill Eller.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for over 70 years, was WMU director for many years, sang in the choir and was extremely faithful to the church she dearly loved. She also loved sports especially the Atlanta Braves and the North Carolina Tar Heels.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth S. Phillips (Rick) of Charlotte; a sister, Jean Eller, of Maryville, TN; four brothers, Roscoe Eller of Asheboro, Johnny Eller (Elma) of Mooresville, Max Eller (Doris) of Lillington, and Neal Eller (Faye) of Kernersville; a granddaughter, Amy P. Horne (Scott) of Charlotte; and two great grandchildren, Caroline and Christopher Horne.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Leon Stewart; two sisters, Ruth E. Jackson and Martha E. Kelly; and a brother, Dupree Eller.
