Thurston Wayne Bowling, Sr. born March 31, 1934 met his wife Miriam in heaven January 14, 2013. After a 2 year battle with lung cancer, Thurston died at home with his family by his side. He was married to Miriam Whiddon Bowling for 55 years when she died in 2008 and is also preceded in death by his youngest daughter Miriam (Mimi) Clarke (Luke), his granddaughter Abby Kelley and his step grandson Wade Youngblood. He is survived by his daughters Gayle Bingham (Mike), Veda Woods (Scott) and son, Wayne Bowling (Pattie). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers. Thurston spent most of his working career in the automotive parts business and retired from Bama Bumper. He was a devoted husband, father and friend and will be missed tremendously by all those that loved him. The family would like to say a special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Acton Road location of Kirkland Clinic for making our Dad feel so loved and to Bethany and Erwin with Gentiva Hospice for their wonderful attitude, love and help. To the Angels heaven sent us to help care for Dad these past few months, Evelyn Boldin, Sonya Smith, Michelle Smith, and Benita Fay, “you have made this journey much easier by your care, concern, love and experience.
