Thomas L. “Tom” Ward, 77, of Mitchell, formerly of Bloomington passed away April 24, 2011 at his residence.
Born, November 1, 1934 in Monroe County, he was the son of Thomas M. and Ethel (Fleener) Ward. Tom was a Boiler Engineer in the Physical Plant at Indiana University for 34 years. He was a member of the Guide Pointe Church in Bedford.
Survivors include his wife of five years, Sharon (Mounce) Ward of Mitchell, two sons, Tom L. Ward of Louisville, KY, Tim E. Ward (Cindy) of Springville, one sister, Laura L. Russ (Bill) of Bloomington, five grandchildren, Megan, Connor, Chloe, Zeke and Devon Ward, four step-children, Diane Early of Bloomington, Richard Craig of Indianapolis, Debbie Bauer of Cannelburg and Sandy Guthrie of Huron.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lowell Ward, a sister, Lonita Charles and a step-daughter, Kathy Turner.
