Thomas (Tom) Kuk , 102, passed away quietly at The Lund House hospice in Gilbert, Arizona on August 31, 2015. Tom was born in Aurora, Illinois and later moved with his parents and siblings to Ottawa, Illinois where he spent his youth and early adult life. For 25 years he worked at Libby Owens Ford, where among other positions, he enjoyed being flown across the country to repair WWII fighter aircraft windshields with a process of repair he invented. He and his wife, Frances relocated to Phoenix where health benefits of a dry climate dramatically improved his poor health at that time. A practicing Catholic, he led several prayer groups, well into his nineties, and helped the poor however he could. He enjoyed family, travel, sports, reading, humor and crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed fishing and card playing. He was an active member of the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus. During his past few years, he resided at the Chandler Health Care Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, his parents John and Elizabeth; brothers, Steve, John and George; and sisters Anne and Mary. He leaves behind his brother, Louis in Ottawa, Illinois; his son, Thomas of Arizona and two daughters, Kathryn of Michigan and Elizabeth of Washington state; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
