On Friday, March 15, 2024, Thomas “Tommy” Schaeffer Fields, fondly known as Captain T, loving husband, great dad, and wonderful PawPaw, lost his battle with cancer.He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Dory Fields (Courtney), and daughters, Anna Spruill and Grace Fields (James Selvaggi); six grandchildren, Briggs Fields, Parker Spruill, River Spruill, Ivy Spruill, Mason Selvaggi, and Cannon Selvaggi; brother, Michael Fields (Tina); sister, Sara Nelson (Jack); aunt, Sharon Cales; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and many, many friends. Tommy was the son of the late, Theodore E. Fields and Doris J. Fry.Tommy was a commercial fisherman for many years and then started his own business installing replacement windows. He enjoyed hunting and fishing on the Eastern Shore. Tommy was very handy with his hands, building his own boat or cutting down trees and using the wood to replace a porch. He was a Master Mason from Princess Anne #25. More then anything else, Tommy was a family man. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren and always enjoyed family time with good music, great food, and his family and friends. Tommy will be missed.
