Thomas R. Golubski, Sr., 54, of South Bend, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2007, in Holy Cross Care And Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in South Bend on January 17, 1953, to the late Leo, Sr., and Dorothy (Samp) Golubski.

On November 13, 1976, he married Lynda Wendt, they were divorced in 1984 and she recently preceded him in death.

On September 7, 1986, he married
Laura L. Frick, who survives.

Along with his wife he is survived by four sons, Thomas R., Jr. (Christel) Golubski of South Bend, Billy Dale (Kim) Shinall and James J. Golubski, all of South Bend and Timothy R. (Kristal) Golubski of Louisville, KY; five grandchildren, Christian and Tristen Golubski, Haley Kaply, Hailey Johns and Teralyn Shinall; two sisters, Patricia (Howard) Shell of Plymouth and Rosanne (Joseph) Willis of LaPorte; four brothers, Leo, Jr. (Debby), Robert (Cindy), Michael (Teri) and Charles (Melody), all of South Bend; and by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Golubski worked as an auto mechanic for Auto Plus for seven years. Prior to that, he worked at Gurley-Leep Dodge with all of his brothers. Tom had worked with his family all his life going back to Harold Medows….(When it came to repairing anything, he could virtually fix everything)

Tom was a member of V F W 9820 men’s auxiliary and also Bowlers Country Club. An avid bowler, Tom carried over a 200 average and enjoyed bowling with his family and friends. Also active in 4-H, he enjoyed (with his youngest son Jim) model rockets, goats and driving his Oliver 70 in the antique tractor pulls. Tom loved the outdoors whether it be going for walks, bike rides, fishing or going camping. He loved watching Nascar racing (as long as a Dodge wins) and a cold beer.

Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather, most of all he loved watching his grandchildren grow. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and all who knew him.
