Thomas William McDonald, age70, of Trussville passed away Friday, June 11, 2010 surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born on January 13, 1940 to Ewell Benjamin and Valda D. McDonald who predeceased him. Surviving to cherish his memory and all the good times shared are Bonnie, his loving wife of almost 47 years; his wonderful and loving brother Charles Benjamin McDonald (Judy) of Dothan, Al; his caring and loving brother in law Wayne Noe of Birmingham, sister in law, Judy Noe of Macon, Mo, nieces Cindy Spencer (Randy), Michelle Kerby (Brian), Jennifer McDonald Magrino (Michael), Kelly Cooper (Robert), Joy Carpenter (Ted), and a number of great nephews and nieces. He is survived also by a number of close and loving friends, a special niece Leeann hull, and his wonderful dog Bobby Jake. Mr. McDonald was retired from the Birmingham Police Department. After retiring from Birmingham, he went to work for the Leeds Police Department and was Chief of Police there for a number of years. During this time, he started his own legal investigation business which he continued to run for many years after retiring from Leeds, He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and bird hunting with Jake. He believed in honesty, integrity, and fairness; born during the Greatest Generation years, he was one of the greatest men.
