Thomas M. Puffer, age 61, of Rome, passed away peacefully March 10, 2013, at the Siegenthaler Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 8, 1951, in Rome a son of Gilford and Eileen Sullivan Puffer and graduated from Rome Catholic School. Tom was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Earley on September 30, 1989, in Rome. He served as a beverage supervisor at the Turning Stone Casino. He was a member of St. Mary’s/St. Peter’s Church.
Tom was known as a friendly person who always treated his employees honestly and fairly. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the outdoors and camping. Most importantly, he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife Mary Ellen; children, Temperance Puffer of NYC, Mandi Wood and Michael Cappelli of Utica, Goldie Puffer of California, John Michael Puffer of Rome, Shawn and Jessie Wood of Brick Township, NJ, and Eric and Jasmine Wood of New Paltz; three brothers and two sisters in law, Richard and Sylvia Puffer of Hartsville, SC, James Puffer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Mark and Debbie Puffer of Rome; grandchildren, Joshua, Kaylei, Amelia, Slater and Rita; and several nieces and nephews.
