Thomas L. Divilbiss, 76, Anderson, died July 3, 2011 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born November 22, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio, to William & Margaret Divilbiss. While in Dayton, Tom graduated from Stivers High School and was a member of the United Southern Church where he also was a Star Scout in the Boy Scouts of America after graduating in 1952.

Tom enlisted in the US Navy and was a Korean Veteran After discharge, Tom returned to Dayton and enrolled in the University of Dayton and graduated with a BS degree in 1960.

Tom played basketball for the freshman team at Dayton and was involved in many intramural sports. After graduating, Tom was offered and accepted a salary position at Delco Remy Division of General Motors.

He worked in middle management retiring in 1989. After retirement, Tom worked in the Anderson City School system for 6 years as a substitute teacher. He also had a stock brokers licence for a period of time at 1st Investment Corporation of Indianapolis. When younger, Tom was an avid golfer, bowling and still did some fishing. He has traveled to Haiti, Dominican Republic, Bahamas and Jamaica.

Tom was active socially, He was a member of the republican party and was chairmen for two fund raisers.

Tom was a member of the Solar Masonic Lodge #734 F. & A.M., York Rite Bodies; Anderson Chapter #52, R.A.M.; Anderson Council #69, R. & S.M.; and the Anderson Commandery #32, K.T.past Commander in 1985; and Murat Shrine. He was a member of Madison County Shrine Club where he served as Chaplain, Board of Directors, and was especially proud of the 20 charter members of Madison County Legion of Honor Platoon and served as Commander in 2003 and driving “Our Kids” to the Shrine Hospitals. He was a 30 year member of the Chesterfield American Legion #408, Amvets #692 and a life time member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks #209. He was made an honorary Kentucky Colonel in 2001.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Hollen; son, Thomas Divilbiss Jr; granddaughter, Michelle Smith; Friend, Joey Hollen and many special friends in the Madison County Shrine Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margret Divilbiss and a son, William Divilbiss.
