Obituary of Thomas James Trezek

Trezek, Thomas James “Tom” of Saginaw, Michigan

Died peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Friday, January 26, 2018. He was 90 years old. Tom was born April 19, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph and Josephine (Vladika) Trezek. He proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force serving as a staff sergeant during World War II. Tom graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and from Harvard Business School with an MBA. He began working as a college graduate in training for Central Foundry Division of General Motors in Danville, Illinois and worked for 38 years in various assignments ending with his amazing career as General Sales Manager/General Manufacturing Manager in Saginaw, Michigan. Tom then started his second career, teaching at Delta College and Saginaw Valley State University. His third career was as President/CEO at Knight Facilities Management for 20 years. At 85 years old – he finally retired to golfing and fishing. He was past president of Saginaw Country Club, past chairman of United Way Bedford, Indiana, past board of directors of St. Mary’s Hospital, Holy Spirit Catholic Church and other organizations too numerous to mention.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Jeanette; five children: Karen (Jerry) Reamer, Kris (Steve) Spicer, Keith (Lorraine) Trezek, Lisa (Paul) Duquette, Kimberly Trezek and her fiancé, Paco Trinidad; seven grandchildren: Matthew (Jennifer) Reamer, Andrew Reamer, Elliott Duquette, Megan Duquette and Andre Day, Emily Morford and Nick Petrick, Trenton Morford, Mike Trezek and Samantha Lockwood; two great-grandchildren: Whitney and Jay Reamer.

Tom was predeceased by his parents; a son-in-law, James Sperling; also Valiant Son, Rik, Kal, Duke, Pardner, Buddy, Yukon and Charlie.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jason Windy – dad’s buddy, Dennis Argyle, Deforest Davis, Steve Mitchell, Brandon Bordeaux, Deb Waltenburg, Dr. Brahma Sarvepalli, Dr. Kala Ramasamy, Dr. Lekha Richardson, St. Mary’s Emergency Department and fifth floor, his Reverence Hospice Nurses – Donna and Lee Ann and the Saginaw Country Club. Last but not least, a big thanks to his treasured “Double or nothing” golfing buddies, Don ‘Whip Snyder’ already in heaven and Richard Gordon.
