On Tuesday, May 16th, 2017, Thomas Greer Harris, Jr., 83, of Columbia, MD, passed away peacefully. Beloved and devoted husband of Luann Crogan Harris for 58+ full and wonderful years, loving father of Stephen S. Harris and wife Christine, and Susan C. Biegel and husband Paul, loving grandfather of Brett Harris, and Samantha, Eric & Mark Biegel, loving brother of Sara E. Morton, loving brother-in-law of Leonard E. and Karen Crogan, loving uncle of 4 nieces and 3 nephews, loving cousin, and devoted friend to many. Born on June 10, 1933 in Dallas, TX to the late Thomas Greer Harris, Sr. and the late Edna Cecelia Johnson Harris.
He was a former Director of the Howard County government of the Office of Planning and Zoning for 18 years. Along with his wife, he was a longtime member and leader of both the Mt. Hebron Presbyterian Church and the Tom Thumb Square Dancing Club, an endless volunteer of many charities and community activities, and a trailer camper with his family for many years. His big infectious smile, very friendly personality, remarkable memory for details, and endless energy and dedication made a lasting impression on family members, friends, all those who knew him and those he met along the way.
