Thomas Francis Neville, Jr., 90, of Tolland, loving companion of Evalyn Gladdys of Branford, passed away at home in Tolland. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Caroline M. (Cotter) Neville and lived in Middletown all of his life before moving to Tolland four years ago to be with his son. Tom was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated Conroy’s Deli, was employed by the State of Connecticut as a weight and measures inspector and worked for the Hartford Courant delivering newspapers. He volunteered with the American Cancer Society driving cancer patients to appointments and was a blood donor, donating over twenty gallons of blood. Tom was a very humble man who did not like the spotlight but loved helping people and worked very hard to provide for his family. In his spare time, he loved to read and was an avid sports fan following the Yankees, Patriots and Uconn Huskies. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey T. Neville and his wife, Janet of Tolland; his daughter, Sheila Lane of Middletown and five grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Brendon, Dylan, and Zara. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ruth (Hintz) Neville, his brother, Bernard A. Neville, and his sister, Mary H. Hickey.
