Thomas Eugene Furr, age 77, of 122 Sweetbriar Drive, Danville died Friday August 10, 2012 at Danville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 07, 1934 in Burlington, NC to the late Robert Franklin Furr and the late Della Hardy Furr. Mr. Furr married the late O’Beria Hankins Furr in earlier years then later married Darlene Walker Furr. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was a member of the Men’s Ministry and Sunday School. After serving in the US Army he went to work for Dupont Martinsville as a Machine Operator until he retired. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters; Patsy C. Harris of Lewisville, NC and Sandra Satterwhite of Stone Mountain, GA: one son Ray Walker of Danville: three sisters; Virginia Coleman, Doris Furr and Frances Cook and husband Bill all of Danville: two brothers Owen “Bootie†Furr and wife Ezetta of Charlottesville, VA and Freddy Furr and wife Peggy of Danville: five grandchildren: three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and first wife he was predeceased by two sons; Riley Compton and Gary Walker: two brothers; Robert H. Furr and Franklin Furr and one grandson.
