Thomas E. Gumuski, 78, of Oglesby, died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru. He was born May 30, 1929 to Thomas J. and Ann (Morris) Gumuski. He worked as an operating engineer for the Local 150, and at Material Services in Marseilles. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was awarded the Bronze Star. He married Wanda Kuhn on May 2, 1959 in the McNabb Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Oglesby American Legion. He is survived by: his wife, Wanda Gumuski, of Oglesby; 1 son, Jeff Gumuski of rural Tonica; 3 grandchildren; 1 brother, Richard (Sandra) Gumuski of Moab, Utah; and 1 sister, Barbara (Peter) Yanush of Tennessee. He was preceded by: 1 brother in infancy.
