Thomas Francis Doran

July 23, 1930 – April 14, 2018

Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed.

Tom Doran passed away into the arms of Jesus on April 14 at home after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving family for two days preceding his death. There was laughter and wonderful stories that brought a smile to his face. He dearly loved his 4 children and their spouses, his 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and his nieces and nephew.

Tom was born on July 23, 1930 in Youngstown, Ohio to Francis Dennis Doran and Letticia (Clark) Doran. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sally and his four siblings, Jeanne Gatti, Mary Muehlbauer, Mark Doran and Mike Doran.

He attended Youngstown College and enlisted in the USMC during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Philco as a Defense contractor and radar site engineer in Frobisher Bay, Baffin Island, Upper Michigan, and Tonopah, Nevada (where he met and married his wife Janice Eason). Then to Point Arena, CA, Hill AFB, UT, Tinker AFB, OK and Colorado Springs.

Tom was especially proud of receiving a Masters in Public Administration degree from Harvard University, John Fitzgerald Kennedy School of Government in 1979.

Tom was an avid and expert fly fisherman; enjoying the sport to the fullest chasing – the illusive brown trout.

Tom Doran is survived by his wife Jan, of over 60 years and four children, Russell (Linda), Diana (John Szczech), David (Tracy), Thomas (Laura) and his 11 grandchildren, Rachelle, Matthew, Austin, Brittany, Stephanie, Ben, Ashley, Jonathon, Tasker, Jackson and Addyson and 4 great grandchildren, Savannah, Ainsley, Grayson and Arden.

A wise man is full of strength and a man of knowledge enhances his might. Proverbs 24:5
