Thomas David Scow, Sr., 75, of Marquette, Nebraska, formerly of Shelby, passed away December 27, 2022 at his home where he was in the care of his family and hospice.
Tom was born June 9, 1947 in Stromsburg, Nebraska to David and Maxine (Pickrel) Scow. He graduated from Shelby High School and went on to serve in the Navy from 1966 to 1970. Upon returning to Shelby after his military service he took up farming, which he would continue for most of his life. He was an active member of Shelby United Methodist Church for many years, where he found a strong faith, great comfort, and good friends.
Tom was known for his near-constant humor, bringing a smile or laugh always, strong love for his children and grandchildren, and his clear and vocal faith.
He is survived by his five children, Tom (Liz) Scow of Shelby, Nebraska, Mike Scow of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Melanie (Josh) Lueders of Marquette, Nebraska, Jason Scow of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Sharae (Cory) Huff of DeWitt, Iowa; his brother James (Carol) Scow of Columbus and sister, Shelly (Mike) Boss of Shelby, nieces and nephews; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Not to be forgotten, his sidekick, Koda, who was always near with a sweet puppy smile or cuddle.
He was preceded in death by his parents David Scow and Maxine Rempe; one brother, Richard Scow; and one nephew, Scott Scow.
Tom loved in big ways, and our hearts will be with him forever. At the same time, we find great comfort in his peace.
