Thomas F. Conners, age 91 years, of Plymouth, passed peacefully Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Woburn Nursing Center. He was the loving husband of the late Joanne (Gonya) Conners, his cherished Bride and forever Valentine, and the son of the late Edward and Ethel (Hilchey) Conners. Born on December 6, 1927 in Old Town, Maine, he was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He then went on to graduate from the University of Maine, majoring in mechanical engineering. Tom worked as an Engineer for General Motors, SKF Industries, and in Risk Management for Commercial Union Insurance, becoming certified in CPCU. Tom was proudest of being an Engineer and constantly reminded us of that fact! After retirement until shortly before his death, Tom kept busy working part-time for Cranberry World, then Destination Plymouth where he relished guiding tourists to the best ways to see Plymouth and its rich history. He was especially fond of his loved to sing in the church choirs alongside his wife, whom he met while on a blind date. But he loved most singing lullabies to his children when small, patiently teaching them how to ride bikes, helping with homework, taking Sunday rides for ice cream, or planting a garden filled with wonderful vegetables and assorted exotic plants. Tom is survived by his son Terrance Conners and his wife Sandra of Lexington, Kentucky, his daughters Mary Conners Huggins and her husband James of Cocao, Florida, and Kathleen Conners McGillvray and her husband Paul of Wilmington, Massachusetts and his sister Barbara Conners of Old Town, Maine. He also leaves his grandchildren Kayla and Megan McGillvray, Jennifer Huggins Diaz, and Matthew Huggins, as well as 3 great-grandchildren: Isaac, Naomi, and Noah Diaz.
