Thomas Arthur Lee “The Patch Man” Snyder, age 81, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at United Hospital Center. He was born December 21, 1934 in Clarksburg, WV, a son to the late Larent Snider and Gladys (Polan) Snider.

Thomas is survived by three sons, Jeffrey C. Snyder & his wife, Barbara of Mt. Clare, WV, Christopher L. Snyder & his girlfriend, Kelly Gillot of Salem, WV and Kurt J. Snyder & his wife, Diane of Mt. Clare, WV; a daughter, Karen Sue Snyder of Clarksburg, WV; five grandchildren, Trista Dawn Snyder, Jason Clark Snyder, Megan Snyder, Shelbi (Snyder) Gricewich & her husband, Mark II and Tiara Snyder; a great-grandson, Izaiah Snyder; two sisters-in-law, Della Mae Snider of Glen Burnie, MD and Diana R. Hinkle of Good Hope, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Snyder who died on August 5, 2013; two brothers, Col. Edward Eugene Snider and Dana Russell Snider; a sister, Opal Mae Todd;

Thomas worked for Hinkle Brothers as a laborer. He also worked for JT Martin, WV Welding and Mach Fab. When Thomas was younger, he was the caregiver for the Clydesdale team horses at Nathan Goff’s Farm. During his later years he also helped raise and train Paso Fino horses at the Golden Ridge Farm. Thomas was a member of Oak Mound Evangelical Church in Clarksburg. He was known as the Patch Man around Clarksburg.
