Thomas A. Wilson the son of Wilbur and Evelyn (Shaw) Wilson was born October 28, 1944 at Nelson, Nebraska.  He departed this life on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Sutton, Nebraska at the age of 72 years.

Tom was a lifelong resident of the Nelson community; he graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1963.  On June 4, 1972 he was united in marriage to Patty Fuller at the Union Church in Hardy, Nebraska.  This union was blessed with the birth of four children, one son and three daughters.  After high school, Tom joined the United States Army National Guard for a two year enlistment.  Tom had worked at the Nelson Coop, drove truck for Wroughtons and had done farm work and worked for the Nuckolls County Department of Roads operating a road grader for 28 years.

Tom had always been a history buff; he enjoyed watching the History Channel and almost anything to do with the Oregon Trail.  In his spare time he enjoyed following the Kansas City Royals as well as the Nebraska Cornhuskers.  He never however, allowed any of these to diminish his first love that for his family.  He dearly enjoyed his time spent with all his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Lillian Wilson, brother-in-law Walter (Tiny) Rowley and nephew Scott Wroughton.

Survivors include his wife Patty Wilson of Nelson, NE; son Brian Wilson and wife Julie along with their children: Carissa, Serena and Garrick of Gretna, NE; daughters: Tonya Coon and husband Rod and their son Rodney of Herington, KS; Sonya Wilson and Theo Burton and her children: Carter, Kailei and Tatem all of Lee’s Summitt, MO; and Lisa Butler and husband Ryan and their children: Riley, Faith and Colten all of Superior, NE; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
