Theron Edward Hall left this life peacefully on June 15, 2016 at age 90. He returned to his heavenly home to be lovingly greeted by his three daughters, Debra, Denise, and Barbara, his parents Dean and Edna Hall, his brothers, Merrill and Lurel Hall, and many friends and relatives dear to his heart who preceded him in death.
Theron was born in Garland, Utah on November 27, 1925. His childhood was a happy one with his 6 siblings and numerous cousins and friends. He learned to work hard on his father’s farm, hoeing beets, digging potatoes, pitching hay, and hiring out to other farmers. He loved to dance, play sports, and hunt small game.
At age 12, his family relocated to Tremonton where he graduated in 1942 from Bear River High School at the age of 16. In November 1943 he enlisted in the Army Air Force. He completed the Single Engine Advanced Flying Training in 1945, then became an instructor in pilot training. The war with Japan ended and he returned to the farm. In 1946 the family moved to Emmett. Soon after, Theron left for an LDS mission to New Zealand (1947-50), working among the Maori natives, just as his father had done years earlier.
A few months after returning home, Theron became engaged to the lovely Amy Marlene Carroll. They married for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on October 2, 1950. Making their home in Emmett, they purchased equipment and livestock and rented a 53 acre farm west of Hanna School. Eight years later they bought 80 acres, including a dairy on Linn Avenue and raised corn, sugar beets, grain, alfalfa, and sweet corn. In 1972 they moved to a 60 acre farm on West Idaho Blvd. Both were leveled and developed into beautiful farms.
Meanwhile, their family came quickly. Marian was born in 1951 and Edward in 1952. Sorrow weighed heavily when twin daughters and another daughter passed away. Mark joined the family in 1962, Fred in 1966, and Ralph in 1968. They later raised 3 grandchildren for 11 years.
Theron spent three years as the Gem County Trustee for the Idaho Society for Crippled Children and Adults. He received the Gem County Farm Family of the Year Award, and served on the SW Idaho Board of Directors for the Cache Valley Breeding Association.
Family was paramount in his life.
He is survived by Marlene, his beloved wife of 65 years, their five children, 28 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren (all who were the light of his life), and 3 sisters and 1 brother.
The family would like to thank the staff at River’s Edge Living Center for their loving care of Theron and Marlene.
