Theresa Veronica Theis, 77, of South Bend, formerly of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 16, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving daughters. Theresa was born June 29, 1939, in Sheffield, England, to Thomas and Anne (Kelly) Moran. Her formative years were spent in her beloved Ireland.
In addition to her parents, and former husband John A. Theis, a brother Thomas Moran and two nephews, Brian Sheridan and Christopher Fabing preceded her in death.
Surviving are daughters, Elizabeth (Chuck) Hartzell of Bristol and Theresa (Mike) Serafino of Elkhart; three grandchildren, John, Liza, and Hannah; five sisters, Anne (Jim) Sheridan-Pullos, Margaret (Chuck) Fabing, Eileen Moran, Mary (Steve) Bolte, Rita Pernick; also five brothers, Michael Moran, Stephen (Judy) Moran, James Moran, Vincent Moran and Patrick Moran; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews survive as well.
Theresa worked at Oaklawn in Elkhart, followed by Marshall Field & Co. She had attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her large extended family and especially her grandchildren. She also loved to go antiquing.
