Theresa ‘Terry’ Sarah LaWare Lobdell

Troy Theresa ‘Terry’ Sarah LaWare Lobdell , of Tibbits Avenue died suddenly Sunday, June 20, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy.

Born in Standish, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edgar LaWare and Sarah (Willcox) LaWare. and wife of Charles T. Lobdell. They married in Port Henry, NY on September 23, 1949.

She had resided in Spring Valley, Port Henry and since 1957 in Troy and was educated at Port Henry schools.

Mrs. Lobdell was employed by Marriot Food Service at RPI in the pizza shop and student union for 19 years retiring in 1994.

She was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church in Troy. She was a strong, special lady, volunteering as a surrogate mother to many students at RPI. She battled cancer six times and had a zest for life, never refusing to help anyone in need especially the students.

Survivor in addition to her husband include a daughter, Shirley Lobdell Gagnon of Troy; two sons, Thomas C. Lobdell and Charles E. Lobdell both of Troy; a brother, Ralph LaWare of South Glens Falls; 9 grandchildren; a great grandchild due on August 8th and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Diane Lobdell and a son Charles Lobdell.
