Theresa N. Fiondella, 92, of Bristol, widow of S. William Fiondella, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2009, at Bristol Hospital.

She was born July 21, 1917 in Bristol, daughter of the late Joseph and Concetta (Esposito) Nestico.  A lifelong resident of Bristol, she was employed as a foot press operator at the former William Barrett Manufacturing Company for 17 years until her retirement at the age of 60.  Theresa was a longstanding member of RSVP in Bristol volunteer activities included working at the Bristol Central High School library for 25 years.  Her many volunteer duties at the Bristol Hospital included working with the Inn Place Club, a social club for patients with emotional issues and also volunteered at the discharge unit of the hospital.  She spent a number of years as a tutor at South Side School with fourth grade students.  In her late 50’s, following her husbands death, she received her G.E.D. and then went on to pursue her associates degree at Tunxis Community College, which she obtained at the age of 75.  A devout catholic, she was a member of St. Anthony in Bristol, having attended the 7:00 a.m. Sunday Mass her entire life and prayed the rosary everyday.  Since 1937, she enjoyed her summer cottage in East Haven. Theresa was an avid reader, sports fan, and scrabble player, but her most precious time was that spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Robert W. Fiondella and his wife, Carolyn of Bristol; her daughter, Sharon Legere and her husband, Roland of Plainville; her grandchildren, Robert Fiondella and his wife, Michele of Farmington, Jeffrey Fiondella and his friend, Heather Dauria of Marlboro, Kristi Chambrello of Plainville, Tricia Parolo and her husband, James of Enfield, Jennifer Chase and her husband, Mark of Plainville; her great-grandchildren, R.J. Fiondella, Lindsay Fiondella, Andrew Fiondella, Coby Chambrello, Allie Chambrello, Tyler Chambrello, Nicholina Parolo, Sofia Parolo, and Joey Chase; several nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; great-grand nieces and nephews.
