SOUTHBURY- Theresa (Gmuer) Bette, 94, of Southbury, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 quietly at her home.
She was born in Bronx, New York on December 16, 1917, daughter of the late Charles and Katherine Gmuer. She resided in Southbury for sixty-five years. Married to the late Francis Bette for sixty-three years, the two enjoyed a long and vibrant retirement together. In addition to traveling and yearly summer trips to Maine, Theresa loved to needlepoint and crochet, which earned her a number of ribbons at the local country fair.
She leaves three sons and one daughter; Richard Bette and his wife Betsey of Southbury, Stephen Bette and his wife Marybeth of Spring Mount, PA, Paul Bette and his wife Maureen of Woodbury and Margaret Kanning and her husband Dick of Sanford, NC. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by ten siblings.
