Theresa McGirr (nee Harty), 86, was called to Heaven on Sunday, September 6th, 2015 at Concordia of Franklin Park, PA. The loving daughter of the late Anne and the late James Harty, she was born and raised in New York, NY. Theresa also resided in NJ, NC, FL and PA over the years spending time with all of her children, and eventually settling down in Holiday City Carefree Berkeley Twp./Toms River with her husband Joe (Magoo).
Teri spread so much joy and laughter with her smile, active spirit, excitable personality, and many “Teri-isms”. She enjoyed traveling often to visit her family; and made a memorable trip to Ireland in her later years. She kept busy in various jobs throughout her life (including Borden Milk Co., T. Shriver, Hartz Mountain, Harrison Housing Authority, Disney World, Harris Teeter, Coldwell Banker, etc.). One of her favorite pastimes was her passion for reading; you can always find Teri nose deep in a book. She will be fondly remembered for her giving nature and putting others needs before her own.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Joseph McGirr, and her son, Robert J. McGirr. Teri is survived by her children; Carol Pereira of PA and her husband Joe, Kathleen Ronzio of MA, Theresa Giambusso of NJ and her husband Tommy, Ellen McGirr of NJ, James McGirr of FL and his wife Meredith, her niece Mary Bridget Demnicki of NJ and her husband Tom, and nephew William McMahon of NJ and his wife Patti, Twelve grandchildren; Shannon, Breanne, Lauren, Christopher, Jonathan, Robbie, Dana, Andrew, Steven, Joseph, Adam, and James, Six great-grandchildren; Jordan, Madison, Tripp, Dyson, Liam, and Teagan, Her sister, Mary Toupin of NY, and brother Thomas Harty of NJ, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
