Theodore “Ted” Rausch, 75, of Meredosia, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born October 30, 1934, in Meredosia, the son of Albert W. and Opal Bunch Rausch. He married Sandra “Jug” Little on July 26, 1956, in Meredosia and she survives.

He is also survived by one daughter, Natalie (Bill) O’Connell of Meredosia; two sons, Todd (Sherry) Rausch of College Station, TX. and Travis (Stephanie) Rausch of Farmer City; eight grandchildren, Darin O’Connell of Champaign, Drew and Doriana O’Connell, both of Meredosia, Dana O’Connell of Charleston, Kaylee Rausch of Austin, TX, Lucas Rausch of College Station, TX, Sydney and Cooper Rausch of Farmer City; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Lee Rausch of Meredosia and Leroy (Brenda) Rausch of Jacksonville; three sisters, Doris Ransom of Meredosia, Nancy Rankin of Newark and Marjorie (Jack) Morrell of Meredosia; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Albert DuWayne Rausch.

Mr. Rausch was a 1952 graduate of Meredosia High School and served in the U.S. Army while stationed in Germany. He was employed at Ameren/CIPS in Meredosia for over 43 years, retiring in 1996. He served on the Meredosia City Council for 13 years and was a member of Meredosia American Legion Post 516. Ted enjoyed traveling, fishing, and attending his grandchildren’s numerous events.
