Theodore J. ”Ted” Davis, 89, Anderson, died March 25, 2003 at the home of his daughter, Patty Stanton after an extended illness. He was born May 31, 1913 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived in Anderson all of his life. Mr. Davis worked for Guide Division of General Motors for 38 years, retiring in 1972. He was one of the original ”sit-downers”, participating in the 1936 Sit Down Strike and remained active in the Local 663 Union and Retiree’s Club. Ted was an avid golfer and held memberships at Grandview and Killbuck Golf Clubs. He was a member of the Noble Street United Methodist Church, Elk’s Lodge 209, Men’s Garden Club of Anderson and the Independent Order of Forester’s. Polly and Ted enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states and many foreign countries, including England, France, Spain, Switzerland and Africa. He is survived by his His wife of 66 years: Pauline Dixon Davis. Daughters & Sons-in-law: Patty & Dick Stanton of Anderson. Karen & Bill Whitacre of Fishers. Five Grandchildren: Lori Mrs. Greg Hines of Frankfort, Dr. Teri Schulz, Doug Stanton, Jamey Burrows and Angela Burrows of Anderson. Ten Great Grandchildren: Andy & Matt Hines, Caity & Becca Wright, Bo & Jessica Stanton, Christopher Burrows, Desmond & Destiny McLemore and Delany Burrows. Two Brothers: Roy Davis of Anderson. Norman & wife June Davis of Anderson. Four Sisters: Helen Banter of Anderson. Martha Runyan of Anderson. Dolly Davis of Anderson. Nellie James of Anderson.
