Theodore M. Billy, age 75, died at his home on July 9, 2022. Ted was born in Nanticoke, PA, the son of Michael and Mary (Fedak) Billy, who predeceased him. He is survived by his sister, Esther Billy of Berwick, PA. He earned his B.A. from King’s College and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Binghamton University in English. He taught at the University of Delaware and other colleges before he began teaching at Saint Mary’s College in 1987. He retired as professor emeritus of English in 2014 and continued to teach part-time. He was a popular and respected teacher of American literature and film studies.  Ted was also a distinguished, published scholar of the works of Joseph Conrad and American Gothic literature.

Ted enjoyed sports and was an enthusiastic fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Phillies, Penn State, and the Berwick High School Bulldogs. He enjoyed and participated in word games and trivia contests. Ted was a regular communicant at the Church of the Loretto at Saint Mary’s College
