Theodosia Mae Turnbull Bohms passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the age of 102. Theo spent her last years living with her grandson’s family surrounded by laughter and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Bohms and children Eric Bohms and Judy Bohms. She is survived by three children: Scott Bohms of Kingston, MI, Ross Bohms of Charlotte, MI, and Jeanie Henson of Westminster, CO. She leaves 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Along with her immediate family, Theo had a large church family at Warren First United Methodist Church in Warren, MI, where she was a very active member for 40+ years.
Theo graduated from Michigan State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University) with a teaching degree. She taught children from kindergarten through twelfth grade over her career. Being a lifelong learner herself, she started to study the Greek language at 75, but what she loved best was seeing her family together at gatherings in her home or at the family cottage. Theo was an avid reader, gardener and knitter. She had a beautiful garden in Warren that she tended lovingly. Along with all of our memories, she has left us hand knitted, personalized Christmas stockings to hang each year – almost 50 lovingly knitted stockings, one for each new family member.
