Thelma Ruth Stevens, age 78, of Bridgeport, WV passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at United Hospital Center surrounded by her family by her side. She was born May 25, 1937 in Lost Creek, WV; the daughter of the late Silas (Eddy) Shaver and Martha (Carder) Shaver.
Thelma is survived by a son, Robert L. Stevens, Jr & his wife, Donna of Huber Heights, Ohio; three daughters, Marsha J. Penny of Bridgeport, WV, Kimberly Slonaker of Stonewood, WV and Melissa A. Thompson & her husband, Tony of Franklin, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Eric Stevens, Kristen Slonaker, Bobby Slonaker, Richard D. Allen, II, Joshua M. Allen, Hannah Thompson, Christopher Talarico, Matthew Farrell and Daniel Merancio; ten great grandchildren two brothers, Charles Shaver & his wife, Dreamalee of Jane Lew, WV, and Robert Shaver & his wife, Kathy, Cleveland, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L Stevens who died on July 13, 1981; a son, Mark Stevens; and a brother, Dorsey Shaver.
Thelma loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
