Thelma Lorene Bryant Koger, 86, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2017 at Caring Hearts Assisted Living.

She was born on November 9, 1930, to Charles and Flossie Phillips Bryant, the oldest of 7 children she had 3 sisters and 3 brothers. She was raised in Fairland, Oklahoma, however, the family spent summers harvesting fruit in Hood River, Oregon, where she met the love of her life, Clayton Robert Koger. They were married on May 10, 1948 in Hood River, Oregon.

Together, they had 4 children, Alan, Debbie, Steven and Danny. She worked as a waitress and short-order cook at numerous cafes. Clayton and Thelma moved to Pocatello, Idaho and started Koger Excavation in 1959, which gave her the opportunity to stay at home with the children while helping run the business. She was proud to be a part of building that business and help in sustaining its continued success.

Her most passionate pastime was watching and cheering on her sons racing stock cars.

Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Koger, a son, Steven Layton Koger, her parents, Charles and Flossie Bryant, 2 brothers, Ellis Bryant and Charles Bryant, and 1 sister, Sharon Pathkiller.

She is survived by 3 children, Robert “Alan” Koger, Danny Clay Koger, and Debra Kay (Milton) Stirm, a brother, Jim (Barbara) Bryant, 2 sisters, Dorothy (Harold) Brannan and Junie (Jack) Whiteley, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
