Terry Wayne McCoy, 68 of Newark, DE and Chesapeake City, MD, died suddenly Sunday, August 24, 2014.
He was born in McComas, WV, on May 15, 1946 and moved to Newark, DE in 1960. He started carpentry work at 13 years old. Through hard work and dedication, he accomplished so much and gave his family an amazing life. No one will ever fill his shoes and he will be missed by many.
Terry enjoyed fishing, hunting and his farm in Chesapeake City. He loved his work and enjoyed talking to everyone in Sparrow Run. Most of all, he loved his family and the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years: Geraldine McCoy; his children: Kathy Van Culin (Eddie) of Earleville, MD, Tammy McCoy (Steve Ellis) of Chesapeake City, MD and Tara Hartman McCoy of EHT, NJ; 6 grandchildren: Richard Fitch III of Dover, DE, Jimmy McCoy (Kaitlyn) of Newark, DE, Krystle Fitch of Smyrna, DE, Heather Fitch of Earleville, MD, Christopher McCoy of Chesapeake City, MD and Shelby Chambers of Earleville, MD; 3 great grandchildren: Melissa Hewes McCoy, Jace Andrew Perry and Remington Wayne McCoy, due in November; 6 siblings: Bonnie Gibson (Clyde), Gary McCoy (Eulla), Pat McCoy, Mark McCoy (Minnie), Mike McCoy and Tammy Lucas (Randy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother: Homer and Beckie McCoy; his mother and stepfather: Beatrice (Hicks) and Buddy Graham: a daughter: Terri Ann McCoy; a granddaughter: Ashley McCoy; his sister: Veronica McCoy Abshire; and 2 brothers: Dean McCoy and Barry Lusk.
